fortytwo points is my outlet. I've been gaming for as long as I can remember, and playing Castlevania on the NES is literally my earliest memory.

I believe video games have the potential to be the highest art. They can involve all of our senses and entertain us in a manner that brings us as close to reality as we ever want to get. Often times, they even grow us in ways we never expected.

With fortytwo points, I hope to improve the art by offering gamers somewhere to go to speak their mind about games and how they can be improved. At the same time, I want to give developers a place to go to get real feedback, without having to dig through pointless forum threads and arguments about which anime character's hair is better. Of course, I'm not the first to try, nor will I be the last.


I want to make a difference with fortytwo points by:

- Promoting video games as an art

- Giving equal press to games of equal merit

- Scrutinizing upcoming releases without mercy

- Generating thoughtful discussion amongst the community

- Interviewing members of the industry and connecting them with the community

- Never allowing personal gain to influence my opinion

- Ripping off other people's good ideas


fortytwo points is a free forum so you may cuss, hate, and slobber all over yourself if you want. But there are a few rules:

  1. Please don't post useless comments. "I hate that game", "that's cool", and "lame" are examples of comments that do not help anyone, and I have to wonder why it's worth the time to even type such things. However, you're more than welcome to say these things if you explain why.
  2. No hate speech, period. I will forgive slang, but I'm not a robot and I won't be fooled by clever attempts at hiding bigotry. Hate speech = insta-ban, after which you can go fuck yourself.
  3. Try not to use leet speak or too many acronyms, please.
